Coccidiostats

Effective protection against coccidiosis. Preserve the health and productivity of poultry and animals.

Coccidiostats are products that suppress or completely stop the development of coccidia — parasites that damage the intestines of poultry and animals. Coccidiosis is one of the most common and dangerous infections in poultry farming, as it leads to loss of appetite, reduced weight gain, decreased egg production, and high mortality in young stock.
Coccidiostats are divided into ionophore and chemical types. They differ in their mode of action, application period, and pathogen sensitivity, but both groups are effective against Eimeria coccidia at all stages of development.
In poultry production, coccidiostats are used for:● prevention of coccidiosis;● reduction of intestinal damage and protection of the intestinal lining;● prevention of mortality in young stock;● improved feed utilization and stabilization of weight gain;● development of immunity in poultry (depending on the application program).
Most commonly, products based on diclazuril, salinomycin, monensin, toltrazuril are used, or complex premixes with a specified concentration of active ingredients.
Main advantages of using coccidiostats:● reliable protection against clinical and subclinical coccidiosis;● reduced mortality and risk of complications (necrotic enteritis);● stable growth rates and uniformity of the flock;● reduced feed consumption by 4–8% due to a healthy gut;● improved feed conversion and economic efficiency;● suitability for use in starter and grower feeds;● reduced antibiotic use in the flock.
Conclusion: Properly selected coccidostats help prevent coccidiosis, maintain intestinal health, reduce economic losses, and ensure stable development of poultry at all stages of production.
